Sarah
L. Catz serves as the director of CUI. She is a leading
advocate and public policy maker in the transportation
industry. During the past fourteen years she has played
a key role in critical transportation projects at both
local and state levels.
Sarah served on the
Board of Directors of the Orange County Transportation
Authority from 1992 to 2002 and served as its Chairman
in 1998. Sarah also served on the Board of Directors of
the Southern California Regional Rail Authority, (Metrolink)
during that same time and was the Chairman of the Board
in 1995 and 1996. In 1999, Sarah helped former Governor
Davis in the transition of his new administration by serving
as the acting Deputy Secretary of Transportation for the
state of California as well as the Project Manager for
the Governor's Infrastructure Commission, the Commission
on Building for the 21st Century.
Sarah currently
serves as a member of the board of directors of the California-Nevada
Super Speed Train Commission that is developing a high-speed
rail service between Orange County and Las Vegas, and
is a member of the Southern California Association of
Governments' Goods movement Advisory Committee.
CUI activities
and programs are supported by the efforts of Deborah
Hart Redman, principal of Redman Consulting. Deborah
has worked in the areas of transportation, urban planning
and air quality for the past 20 years, and supplies CUI
with a creative, interdisciplinary approach to current
issues. Functionally, Deborah works closely with
Sarah to help create and implement CUI programs and events.
